Weight Loss Pills

Today I want to talk about the use of drugs and weight loss pills to lose weight. Weight loss pills and other drugs have been used as a means of losing weight for obese and overweight people. Weight loss pills are available in several forms. They include drugs prescribed by the doctors, drugs available over the counter and also herbal drugs. Weight loss pills are most often recommended for people who are medically obese and whose weight is causing serious health concerns. Even with weight loss pills, the treatment of obesity involves exercise, counseling, dietary changes, and behavioral modifications.

Weight loss pills are not a good choice for anyone with the many disadvantages they present. There are different types of over the counter and prescribed weight loss pills, which are available in the market from various brands. It is highly recommended to combine both exercise and pills to achieve the best results. Weight loss pills are not a standalone solution and you will put the weight back on as soon as you stop taking them.
I want to emphasize that weight loss pills are generally dangerous, and the results, are not worth your time or money. Information is power and could save your life.

There are many drugs and pills on the market for weight loss control. A very popular drug for losing weight in the form of Ephedra known to possess properties that control your appetite and block dietary fat metabolism. Ephedra was found in many popular weight control products. On December 30, 2003, the US Food and Drug Administration announced a ban (effective from 12 April 2004) on the uncontrolled sale of supplement products containing Ephedra. They cited “an unreasonable risk of illness or injury” from the use of the drug. Ephedra or ma huang still remain popular fat burners, despite the fact that FDA banned them in 2003 after several death cases resulted from using ephedra. Drugs and diet pills can be dangerous to your health and life. I suggest other safer methods for weight loss.

Other important information to know regarding the use of ephedra: Ephedra can cause high blood pressure which can lead to strokes. Ephedra was a popular ingredient in weight loss pills and may have been effective. However, ephedra has stimulatory effects, increasing the heart rate and blood pressure, and increasing the risk of strokes, heart attack, seizures, and other serious problems. Ephedra, which is banned in some states including New York, is used to decrease appetite. The side effects are high heart rate, sleeplessness, stroke and death. Use common sense and good judgment when considering weight loss drugs and pills.
