You will realize you need to be there for them and they will be there for you. It is helpful to find some one in the group that can go the same speed as you walk. That way you will keep a better pace and so will they, helping both of you to have success. Once you start, it will be easy to continue with the exercise. weight loss is the goal.
When walking you will be burning calories and that means you are burning off excess fat and pounds. Your weight loss program is working. It is safe to lose ½ to 4 pounds a week. You do not want to lose any faster than that for your health. There is a walking calorie calculator that you can get how ever it is not necessary. A treadmill could be a good investment for adding to the amount of time you could devote to walking. This would also be helpful when weather prevents your walking outside. Always incorporate exercise with any weight loss program.
Some people use places such as a mall where they do their walking. This would get you out of the house and provide the safety you need for walking and can be helpful if you have to walk alone. A gym usually provides a track for walking also. All these suggestions are so that you can obtain the weight loss that you want to obtain.
